The traffic system, uses trough-shaped tracks for internal-combustion-engine-driven vehicles with road-travel capacity the vehicles have lateral guide rollers working in conjunction with track forming stem pieces. Vehicles (4) are fitted with one or more exhaust pipes (7, 8), each with a transversely movable end. On tunnel sectors, or other sectors where exhausts are dangerous, there is forcibly vented exhaust channel (12) along the track (1) and open in a slot shape at the edge towards the tunnel. The pipe plunges temporarily into this as the vehicle passes through the sector concerned.
