The wrapping is made of a circular or square sheet of paper (1). On the face not in contact with the cheese is a flat central part (2), which is relatively rigid and of a shape similar to that of the cheese. There is also a series of rigid, flat extensions separated from each other and tangential to the periphery of the central part. These have a width about equal to the thickness of the cheese. When bent over, these parts form a protective shell around the cheese.
