Estimation of breast vol. in breast-surgery patients - by comparison with moulded plastic cups attachable to chest harness

Device for determining the vol. of the breasts of a patient requiring a prosthesis or surgical enlargement comprises an adjustable harness to which can be attached cups of moulded plastic material of various shapes, sizes and volumes. The cups are attached to a chest strap by means of a surface fastener, and to shoulder straps by means of press-studs or similar fastenings. The chest strap carries a series of regularly-spaced markings to facilitate the positioning of the cups. This is a simple device which gives the surgeon accurate information on the required vol. before commencing the operation. It enables the patient to appreciate beforehand the likely result, and to participate in the decision regarding size and shape.
