The invention relates to a process for separating out SO2, SO3 and NOx in nonferrous metal metallurgical processes, preferably downstream of converter furnaces and anode furnaces. In order to be able to separate out SO2, SO3 and NOx simultaneously, it is proposed according to the invention that absorbants for SO2/SO3 absorption, such as hydrated lime, are added to the heavy metal dusts and, to convert nitrogen oxides into elemental nitrogen and water, NH3 is simultaneously added to the dusts and hydrated lime in a stoichiometric amount corresponding to the NOx portion.
