AGGREGATE FOR WEAR RESISTANT ASPHALT PAVEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain title aggregate which is excellent in wear-resistivity and is easily available by using the slug produced from a furnace as the raw material and making glanular iron by crushing, magnetic ore dressing, and sorting. CONSTITUTION:The aggregate is the granular aggregate (granular iron) and the raw material of this aggregate is the slug produced from a furnace and the aggregate is made by crushing, magnetic ore dressing and sorting. Some granular aggregates are of pig iron and others are of steel and in either case glanular irons are used. Sections of grain size are divided into 13-20mm, 5-13mm, 2.5-5mm and 0.6-2.5mm, and each section is used with single section or combined sections. In oder to sharply improve the wear resistivity, the granular iron of large diameter is preferably used.
