The processing is carried out in three operating stages, the waste solutions first being extracted by chemical and thermal action. Then, with the use of gaseous or solid active substances, the wastes are usefully mixed with alkali solution in counter-current and filtered, preferably, by centrifuges and hydrocyclones in a plurality of stages. The heavy metal wastes are pelleted for recycling or for landfilling.
