SPIKE TIRE WHERE SPIKES COME OUT WHEN WHEELS SLIP ON ICE OR FROZEN ROAD

PURPOSE:To prevent slippage of a tire and damage to a road surface by oscillating an arm mounted on the tire with a friction body coming into press- contact with a road surface to make any of respective spikes disposed on both ends of the arm bite into the road surface. CONSTITUTION:In an anti-slipping part B mounted on a tire A, a pair of spikes C are disposed on both the ends of an arm 1. A friction body 2 for driving the arm 1 in the center of the arm 1 is brought into press-contact with a road surface D by a spring 3, and a stopper 5 is also provided to prevent it from falling away. Moreover, the arm 1 is mounted on the tire A so that it can be freely oscillated through a shaft 4. When the tire A slips, racing force due to slippage is utilized to oscillate the arm 1 through the friction body 2, to make the spike C at either end of the arm 1 protrude from the tread of the tire A, and bite into the road surface D. It is thus possible to prevent the tire A from slipping with the restraint of the damage to the road surface D.
