The automobile head lamp has a rear reflector (2) formed at the rear as a rotational paraboloid (4), bounded by 2 angled end sides (7), the light source positioned at the focus of the paraboloid. The 2 end sides (7) define translation paraboloids with their concave sides facing one another and their focal axes extending horizontally, parallel to the optical axis of the rear paraboloid. Pref. both the latter focal axes coincide with one another and with the optical axis of the rear reflector (2). ADVANTAGE - Low cost rectangular head lamp unit.
