The travelling track tamping and lining machine (1) comprises a tamping head (15) and an assembly (21) for lifting and laterally lining a track (5) of which the tool frame (27) - adjacent the tamping tools and preceding them in the working direction and pivotally connected to the machine frame (11) via lifting and lining drives - is designed to be supported on the track by two flanged wheels (26) arranged one behind the other longitudinally of the machine and designed to act as a pair of lining tools. It is equipped - per rail - with at least two lifting tools (25) designed for displacement under the power of drives and for application to the rails. The tool frame (27) is formed by two frame sections (29, 30) which are arranged one behind the other longitudinally of the machine and which are interconnected to pivot about a vertical axis (28) relative to the plane of the frame formed by the axes of the flanged wheels. @(29pp Dwg.No.2/8)@ -
