Liquid absorbing acidic gases containing a tertiary alkanolamine component and an activator for CO2 absorption, and its application to the deacidification of gas containing CO2 and possibly other acidic gases

Liquid absorbing acidic gaseous compounds, exhibiting an improved CO2 absorption capacity, the said absorbent liquid containing one or a number of tertiary alkanolamines and an activator for CO2 absorption. The activator consists of at least one diamine corresponding to the formula: IMAGE in which X denotes a C2-C9 divalent alkylene radical or a C4-C9 divalent cycloalkylene radical and each of the symbols R denotes a hydrogen atom or a C1-C6 monovalent radical, provided that at least one of the Rs is a hydrogen atom. Application of the said absorbent liquid to the deacidification of gas containing CO2 and possibly other acidic gaseous compounds, especially H2S and/or COS.
