The temp. loading of the sample (1) is limited by regulating the i.r. radiation power by means of a temp. sensor (2) of low heat capacity placed at the base of a blank sample weighing pan (3) next to the measurement sample pan (4). Both samples are subjected to the same radiation. The sensor is covered by a ring (6) of poor heat conductance at the base of the blank sample pan. The relation of the base surfaces of the measurement sample pan to the blank sample pan is equal to the relation of the moisture of the measurement sample ot the blank sample (5). The round container (12) protects against temp. and interference effects including for the weighing cell underneath. Leads (11) connect the temp. sensor to electronics. ADVANTAGE - Reduced drying and measuring time.
