The subject of the invention is a friction pairing for the braking of a moving body, particularly a vehicle, comprising two components which move with respect to one another and are applied against each other by friction surfaces during braking, one said component having a ceramic friction surface, characterised in that the other component has a friction surface made of carbon-carbon composite. This friction pairing applies particularly in braking systems for aircraft, highspeed trains, and industrial plant and vehicles.
