The product concerns a run-through sander to wood- and lacquer-intermediary sanding of plane workpieces (E), the surface of the workpiece not necessarily plane (meaning smooth). The process requires abrasives of the laminated type with abrasive slats mounted next to each other in a rotation sanding head, which during operation sand the surface of the workpiece by the slats' stroking. The sanding effect is a result of the total effect of the slats. The novelty of the product is sanding drums (5, 6) positioned differently in the machine partly lengthwise, partly transverse. The lengthwise sanding drums are arranged in a position to move cyclic from side to side in the machine during operation so that the workpiece (E) is processed in full width by the lengthwise positioned sanding drums as well. The feeding belt speed, the cyclic variation frequency and the number of revolutions of the sanding drums are adjusted individually to the type of workpiece. The finish pattern of the operation can be characterized as cross sanding.
