The invention is directed at a cantilever shelf which comprises a holding frame and a plate carried thereby. The holding frame is composed of a front-side and a rear-side longitudinal bar, the bar ends of which are connected by the crosspieces. In order to ensure universal usability of the shelf, it is proposed to couple the plate both at its front-side and at its rear-side longitudinal side via a releasable push-in connection to profiled edge strips which bound the supporting surface of the plate on both longitudinal sides and form a pre-assemblable construction unit with the plate. When assembled, this construction unit is supported merely by its edge strips on the two longitudinal bars of the holding frame.
