The process of the present invention regulates the AIT vapor release out of the packed material at the desired release rate, effectively extinguishing the antimicrobial effect while preventing environmental contamination and damage to the object treated with the antimicrobial agent, thereby generating AIT vapor. In addition, the antibacterial activity can be sustained for a long time by a small amount of AIT.
