PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resistance of a copper-based sliding bearing to deteriorated oil of lube oil having sulfur based additive added, by forming a Cu-Mo based coat for coating a lining at a specified composition. ;SOLUTION: IN a copper based sliding bearing material formed by containing copper-based sliding bearing alloy stuck on a back plate, a Cu-Mo based coat for coating the copper-based sliding beading alloy is formed. This Cu-Mo based coat contains 0.01-5wt.% of metal Mo or in terms of metal Mo of Mo in Mo oxide from and the remnant is substantially composed of Cu. The Cu-Mo based cost is preferable to contain Pb 10wt.% or less and top contain Cu oxide 0.01-10wt.% in terms of metal Cu. The thickness of the Cu-Mo based coat is preferable to be 0.1-50μm. The Cu itself is inferior in sulfurized corrosion resistance, however, addition of minor metal Mo and/or Mo oxide greatly improves this property.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
