PURPOSE:To produce a large quantity of growth hormone of fishes at a low cost, by forming a recombinant plasmid containing a prescribed vector linked with a gene coding an amino acid sequence of a growth hormone polypeptide originated from a specific fish. CONSTITUTION:A DNA coding growth hormone of tuna is sectioned from a plasmid containing said DNA and is integrated into a vector DNA and the obtained recombinant DNA is introduced into a microorganism. The resultant transformant is cultured to produce and accumulate the tuna growth hormone polypeptide, which is separated from the cultured product. The plasmid containing the DNA coding tuna growth hormone is preferably pTTS339. The preferable vector DNA is pKK223-3, pKK233-2, etc.
