The method is used in machanical engineering for making spur gear wheels. By it, machining by milling and cutting of straight and helical external teeth gear of different modules, profile angles of the initial contour, number and teeth depths is made by the same tool and machine of universal application. By the method, one side of all teeth and then in succession - the other sides, are machined. Every involute surface is machined from a straight line sector of the tool profile with operating moves in the direction of the screw generatrix after successive setting revolutions of the wheel around its axis at a preset angle, in the direction of the tool entering direction into the backlash and after respective setting shifts of the wheel towards the straight line sector of the tool at distance, in a direction normal to the straight line of the tool's profile, rb meaning radius of the basic cylinder of the wheel.
