PROCESS FOR PREPARING A FORMALIN-KILLED E.COLI ORGANISM WITH EXPRESSION OF ANTIGEN WITH COLONISATION FACTOR (CFA) FOR VACCINATION AGAINST INTESTINAL INFECTION/DIARHEA CAUSED BY ENTEROTOXIGENIC ESCHERICHIA COLI BACTERIA IN HUMANS

摘要

A method for preparing a composite vaccine against intestinal infection caused by enterotoxigenic E. coli bacteria in humans is described. E.coli strains selected from a variety of known strains, each of which has the ability to express a certain type of colonizing factor antigen, are cultured under suitable conditions in a liquid culture medium. Finally, the formalin-killed E. coli strain with substantially retained antigenic and hemagglutinating properties of said designated colonization factor antigen is mixed with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient and / or diluent. Further described is a method of preventing intestinal infection caused by enterotoxigenic E. coli bacteria in a human by administering to a human in need of such infection a composite vaccine comprising an inactivated E. coli strain.
