There is provided a data transmission system including a data signal source and a modulator for generating a first modulated signal representing the data signal in response to the data signal and a second modulated signal representing a signal having a phase difference of 180 from the data signal . The first and second modulated signals are transmitted over a transmission channel. The first demodulator 50, 100 demodulates the transmitted first modulated signal, and the second demodulator 50, 100 demodulates the transmitted second modulated signal. A subtractor (60, 70) generates a signal representative of the data signal in response to the first and second demodulators.
