PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a complicated model through a rapid prototyping(RP) device by preparing the model through the RP device by transforming the object into cross-sectional contour data mutually parallel along the prescribed direction. SOLUTION: Graphical modeling is performed on a computer. CG modeling data (three-dimensional(3D) plotting data) thus obtd. are transformed into STL format data. Based on the STL format data, the model is prepared by the RP device. In this case, the STL format data are well known data formats and surface data of the object to be utilized for a model device such as the RP device. Namely, based on the 3D plotting data provided by modeling the object through 3D graphics processing, the object is transformed into a lot of mutually parallel cross-sectional contour data having suitable fine intervals along one prescribed direction by the prescribed processing and according to the cross-sectional contour data, the model is produced by the RP device.
