PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bacterium/fungus- and alga-controlling material for plant which consists of chips molded with rubber or plastic preventing growth of bacterium/fungus and alga by placing around the plant, and allows prevention of disease injury of plants without directly scattering an agent and does not allow either outflow or dispersion of an agent. ;SOLUTION: This material consists of chips molded with rubber or plastic such as ethylenepropylene rubber, and prevents growth of bacterium/fungus and alga by placing around a plant. It is preferable that the chip contains at least one of zinc flower, stearic acid, an activating agent, and a processing material, a filler material, a vulcanizing accelerator, a resin, an adhesive supplementary agent, and sulfur, as well as at least one kind of agrochemical selected from antibacterial/antifungal agents, bactericide/fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, plant hormones, and repellants, It is preferable that the chip has a true specific gravity of 0.5-4.0 and a volume of 0.00005-3.0 cm³.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
