PURPOSE:To equalize toughness of a weld zone with that of base metal and to improve safety of a welded structure by subjecting the weld zone or the vicinity of the weld zone to forced cooling while stainless steels containing boron being welded. CONSTITUTION:While the stainless steels containing boron being welded, the weld zone or the vicinity of the weld zone is subjected to forced cooling, hence a boride molten by welding heat is cooled quickly. As a result, the growth of particles of the boride is hindered and coarsening is prevented and it is made possible to equalize toughness of the weld zone with that of the base metal and safety of the welded structure can be improved.
