The valve can be released by operation of either internal or external fuse elements associated with conduit, or by manual operation. The system for maintaining a butterfly type safety valve in the armed position consists of an arm (1) with a return spring tensioned during the arming process, and permitting the disarming when necessary. The arm has an operating finger (5) which causes the re-closure of the latch (2) of an electromagnet (8) at the end of its movement. The latch includes a notch which retains the arm in the armed position. The return mechanism (9), which disarms the device, may be operated by an internal or external fuse. After operation of both fuses, manual rearming of the device is not possible.
