PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a tie rod and conduct remodeling construction works in the remodeling construction works of a sheet pile type quaywall under the state, in which a sheet-pile wall and brace works are connected by the tie rod. ;SOLUTION: A caisson body 5 is moved on water and arranged in front of the sheet pile type quaywall. Accordingly, since the existing steel-pipe sheet piles 4 are brought to the state, in which they are supported by the caisson body 5, tie rods 3 bearing the existing steel-pipe sheet piles 4 can be removed. A ground at the rear of the existing steel-pipe sheet piles 4 is improved under the state, in which the tie rods 3 are taken off, but soil can be improved easily and surely because there is no tie rod 3 at that time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
