PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and efficiently execute processing by executing system performance evaluation, even in a case when hierarchical resource contention exists and reducing a calculation quantity required for performance evaluation and a required storing capacity. SOLUTION: A system performance evaluating method first inputs the hardware constitution of a lower-order layer (step A1), next inputs transaction data of transaction using the software resource of a higher-order layer (step A2), next inputs process data of a process constituting the software resource of a higher-order layer (step A3), next inputs the restricting condition of a process (step A4), next sets a kind of performance evaluating value to display and a kind of style to use for the display (step A5). Then the method next checks whether the data are sufficient for calculating a performance evaluating value to require reinput to a user in a case, when the data are short or erroneous (step A6) and at the time of being sufficient, calculates a performance evaluating value which should be obtained under the restricting condition of the process of the higher-order layer (step A7). Finally, the method shows the performance evaluating value of these to the user by a display means (step A8).
