SYNTHESIS OF ZEOLITE BETA USING DIETHANOLAMINE IN THE REACTION MIXTURE

Zeolite beta is synthesized hydrothermally from anaqueous reaction mixture containing the conventionalreactive sources of SiO2, Al2O3 and Na2O tetraethylammoniumhalide as the source of the crystallization directingtetraethylammonium ions and diethanolamine as the agentproviding the increased basicity necessary for theformation of zeolite beta crystals. Seed crystals ofzeolite beta are optionally employed to shorten thecrystallization period.
