The constant velocity joint for a motor vehicle drive shaft has an inner spherical section with guide grooves (24) extending axially at equal spacings around its circumference (22). An adapter ring (26) on the inside of the sphere fits onto the drive shaft. The ring has defined dimensions with respect to the inner spherical joint section.
