The hob safety gas valve body(1) is unitary for each burner and it is machined with the coaxial inlet(13) and outlet(14) ducts which are intercalated in the cooking hob between a tap(3) and a rigid pipe(4) of the respective burner according to a common plane(P) with the tap spindle(3a). It also has a lateral body piece(1c) machined with the housing(10) containing the cut-off safety valve(6,7), which is set an angle in respect of the inlet and outlet ducts. Independent claims are included for a gas cooking hob and a method of modifying a gas cooking appliance.
