PURPOSE: To prevent the generation and diffusion of offensive odor of organic sludge by mixing it with charcoal and pyroligneous acid obtained by the carbonization of driftwood which is collected from a dam constructed for the purpose of electric power utilizing hours made during the control of the dam. ;CONSTITUTION: Charcoal and pyroligneous acid are produced with a charcoal kiln 1 from driftwood, dead trees damaged by pine weevils, fallen trees hit by a typhoon, and lumber from thinning. Charcoal 1 pulverized by a charcoal pulverizer 4 is bagged, and pyroligneous acid is packed in a container. Concentrated sludge from public sewage, after being dewatered by a dewaterer, is sent to a belt conveyer 7. Pyroligneous acid from the container and charcoal powder from a hopper 6, into which the charcoal powder is supplied from the bag, are supplied to the belt conveyer 7 in a proper ratio during the sludge being transported on the conveyer 7. They are fed to a mixer 10, and the mixed sludge is supplied to a sludge hopper to be discharged on a sludge truck.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
