PURPOSE: A method for controlling non-linear replay of multimedia stream and a browsing interface, a control system, and an input device interface for the same are provided to control the replay of multimedia stream by using semantic and structural information of indexed contents. CONSTITUTION: A replay device(100) is used for replaying multimedia stream. An input device(200) receives an input signal from a user and transfers the input signal to a control module(501) in order to replay a media file(300). The media file(300) is composed of multimedia stream data. An index structure includes semantic and structural information for corresponding multimedia contents. The media file(300) and an index structure(400) are stored in a local memory region of a system. The control module(501) and a non-volatile memory(502) are mounted in a main controller(500). Software program for playing the media file(300) or setup data for the input device(100) is loaded on the non-volatile memory(502).
