A process for the painting of objects with an at least two component paint comprises vaporization of the components in at least one carrier gas whereby the vapor pressure is such that the condensation temperature corresponding to the vapor pressure is above the temperature of the object to be painted and the carrier gas is fed to the article or the gases are fed simultaneously or alternately to the object. Independent claims are included for: (i) a device for carrying out the process having an arrangement of gas feeds; (ii) the resulting painted article.
