The system includes a sampling device (2) for removing interstitial fluid (ISF). A device (1) is provided for reducing the time offset between the glucose concentration present in the interstitial fluid and that in the blood of the patient. The device may be a heating device heats a skin area prior to removal of the ISF from it, an ultrasound device, or a unit for administering material to promote blood circulation.
