PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mis-delivery preventing system and a mis-delivery preventing method that can prevent mis-delivery in the service where detailed information relating to information provided by the Internet access service using a portable telephone is distributed to a user as FAX information. SOLUTION: The mis-delivery preventing system is provided with a storage section that stores terminal identification information to specify a portable telephone terminal of a user in cross-reference with a destination FAX number of FAX information entered by the user in an information providing environment where detailed character information able to be acquired by a portable telephone terminal is distributed by using a facsimile terminal on request from the portable telephone terminal and with a processing section that receives terminal identification information of the portable telephone terminal furthermore when receiving a FAX information delivery request sent from the portable telephone of the user and delivers the FAX information to a destination FAX number corresponding to the terminal identification information only when the terminal identification information is coincident with any of sets of the terminal identification information stored in the storage section.
