PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human monoclonal antibody against AILIM useful as a medicine for inhibiting or blocking the onset and/or progress of various kinds of diseases associated with costimulatory signal through the AILIM, and capable of treating and preventing the diseases, and further to provide a medicinal composition. SOLUTION: Various kinds of the human monoclonal antibodies controlling vital reactions (e.g. cell propagation, production of cytokine, immune cytolysis, cell death and induction of ADCC) associated with the transmission of the costimulatory signal through the AILIM by binding with the AILIM is obtained by immunizing a transgenic mouth created by using a genetic engineering technique and capable of producing a human antibody, with the AILIM molecule. It is also found that the human monoclonal antibody can inhibit the onset and/or progress of various kinds of the diseases associated with the costimulatory signal through the AILIM, and is effective for the therapy or prophylaxis of the diseases.
