The vortex wake influence measuring process involves measuring the wind speed on board from aircraft ahead of a first aircraft to produce turbulence data, reporting the measured or predicted data on flight path positions to a ground station, setting the turbulence pattern in the flight path, finding the strength of the vortex wake (5) from the first aircraft on the basis of design data, and thus the effect it will have on a second aircraft following it.
