The method involves determining data vectors with components corresponding to object characteristics, assessing components by comparing with defined search strategy patterns, associating data vectors to one of two classes, determining quantitative degree of association values per pattern investigated and output, storage and/or display of selected patterns and data for which the degree of association is maximal or exceeds a threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following (1) a computer program product for processing data quantities according to the method, (2) an analyzer and (3) the use of a method, computer program product or an analyzer for data reduction.
