An organo-mineral amendment (I) for structuring soil comprises a mixture of (a) lime-treated household rubbish and (b) plant compost. An Independent claim is included for the production of (I), by: (i) milling household rubbish (optionally after preliminary sorting); (ii) removing any ferrous metals; (iii) treating the rubbish with lime; (iv) screening then storing the product; and (v) mixing the product with plant compost.
