PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliability evaluation method for a transmission route and its system which is capable of evaluating reliability of individual facilities composing the transmission route quantitatively, showing their influence on the transmission route as a network by an index in a concrete manner and having it reflected on inspection and repair of the facilities and a plan to construct a network.;SOLUTION: The present invention obtains state of installation of each section constituting the transmission route from a database for evaluating facilities, calculates a facilities evaluation value for each section according to the state of installation at a facilities evaluation rank decision means 3 and determines the facilities evaluation rank of the transmission route. The invention also obtains state of environment of each section from a database 5 for environment evaluation, calculates an environment evaluation value of each section according to the state of environment at an environment evaluation rank decision means 7 and determines the environment evaluation rank. The invention evaluates reliability of the transmission route based on the facilities evaluation rank of the transmission route, the environment evaluation rank and redundancy of the transmission route at a reliability evaluation means 9.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
