PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting a posture through a motion comparison and a method for comparing motions, and a recording medium storing the method for comparing motions are provided to improve the effectiveness of posture correction and exercise. CONSTITUTION: A PC camera(102) takes a photograph of a motion video of a user and transmits the motion video to a motion comparing engine in real time. A monitor(104) outputs a standard video of a lecturer and the user video inputted from the PC camera, and outputs points which is a result of the standard video and the user video. Speakers(106) output a background music used for a sports learning program, and output an instruction announcement instructing to correct the wrong posture. A CD(108) loads the sports learning program and the motion comparing engine. A body unit(110) executes the CD. A screen(112) interrupts a background to accurately extract the user video. A matrix(114) absorbs shocks generated during a user's exercise.
