The antenna has a 3-dimensional configuration provided by at least 2 similar 2-dimensional fractal partial structures, transformed into one another by rotation about a central axis (5) and coupled together at the axis. A number of 2-dimensional fractal partial structures, each provided by a current wire embedded in a dielectric, can be arranged in a star configuration about a central axis.
