The branch point (10) of the inlet section (8) of the overflow channel (2) from the basin outlet (3) is located at essentially the same height as the point where the inlet section is connected to the return section of the overflow channel. The valve seat (7) and the corresponding sealing surface (12) of the valve body (5) extend at an angle relative to the basin outlet length axis (A). The basin (1) has a drainage valve (4) in its outlet, the valve body for which can be moved between a closed position and an open position allowing direct communication between the inside of the basin (6) and a drain. The valve seat is bypassed by an overflow channel having an inlet section which branches off the basin outlet at a point above the valve seat and extends up to a height corresponding to the maximum water level allowed inside the basin. The return section of the overflow channel is connected to the highest point of the inlet section of this channel and is connected to the basin outlet at a point below the valve seat.
