Apparatus for non-invasive three-dimensional scanning of fluorescent substances, in the skin and skin tissues of patients and biopsies, has a compact scanning module with an adjustable mirror to give a simple coupling to a femtosecond laser system. A housing (1) is mounted at a worktable, with an adjustable mirror (2). An x,y beam scanner has an adjustable attenuator (3), a beam divider (4), a diode module (5), an optical scanner (6), a beam divider (7) and a filter wheel (8) with a number of different spectral filters. An adjustable detector module has three detectors, imaging optics and a short-pass filter (9). A holder has a coarse adjustment in the x, y and z direction, with a fine adjustment in the z direction, with an imaging unit (10), optical focusing (11), a removable holder with a glass window (12) and a holder (13) for the biopsy with a fine z direction adjustment.
