PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedding material and a base plate for a void slab having the embedding material which has a horizontal cross-sectional area substantially equal to that in the prior art and can easily and surely reduces a void ratio of a void slab structure without reducing structural strength.;SOLUTION: A reverse face recess 11 is formed in the reverse face of the embedding material 10A in an upward direction, and an obverse face recess 14 is formed in the obverse face of the embedding material in a downward direction in a manner that the reverse face recess 11 and the obverse face recess 14 intersect with each other. The two recesses 11 and 14 have the depths to form a through hole 15 at an intersection of the two recesses. The embedding material 10A is fixed onto a precast concrete plate 3 to form the base plate A for the void slab. When cast-in-place concrete C is placed in a construction field, the cast-in-place concrete passes through the through hole 15 and easily fills the reverse face recess 11.
