PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium handling device that can stack a medium in a desirable state on a stacker. ;SOLUTION: A shaft 31 is fitted to a thermal head 23, and a lever 32 is fitted to the shaft 31. The other end 32b of the lever 32 is brought into contact with one end 33a of a sensor lever 33. One end of a spring 35 is fitted to the sensor lever 33. A shaft 37 is also fitted to the sensor lever 33, and the end part of a pressing lever 29 is fitted to the other end 37b of the shaft 37. In the state of the thermal head 23 being out of printing, the pressing lever 29 presses a medium 5 in a stacker to a stacker medium receiving face by the energizing force of the spring 35. When the thermal head 23 is put in a printable state, the pressing lever 29 is retreated into a position away from the medium 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
