Network resource allocation method for Internet protocol network, involves allocating network resources individually for requested network resource reservation and updating usage history statistics

The method involves allocating reserved network resources in advance before a session has started based on usage history statistics. The network resources are individually allocated for requested network resource reservation if applicable usage history statistics is not available. The usage history statistics is updated based upon the individually allocated network resources. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a computer program product directly loadable into a server and/or router within an internet protocol network to perform a method of network resource allocation (b) a computer product stored on a computer usable medium to perform a network resource allocation method (c) a resource manager in an internet protocol network.
