PURPOSE: A position-based IC(Intelligence Character) system and a method therefor are provided to download a character image with a mobile terminal, and to download a character action list as much as size of a data storage space, so that a character can act according on the character action list based on position information of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(210) downloads a character image and a character action list, and executes an action of the character image. A character server(250) downloads the character image, prepares for a character action command with regards to an action event of the image, and transmits the command to the terminal(210). A mobile communication network transmits an access request to the character server(250). A client computer(220) sets the character action list, or sets acquaintance information and schedule information for the event. A position information server(230) supplies position information on the terminal(210). An IC DB(254) stores data on character information, subscriber information, and the action event.
