Method for assigning work costs of employees to different projects, whereby an employee is equipped with a position determination device, e.g. a GPS receiver, and linked to a data processing unit. Costs are assigned to different projects or orders based on the time an employee spends in a physical location that corresponds to the site of a particular job. The system can also incorporate a height determination system based on variations of atmospheric pressure with height.
