Device comprises means for generating a hydraulic, periodically varying, pressure that is applied to a hollow space of an object to be tested. The device comprises a hydraulic cylinder (22) and a hydraulic piston (21). To create relative movement between cylinder and piston a vibration arrangement (10) comprising at least a vibrating mass (11a, 11b, 12) and at least a vibration exciter are coupled to cylinder or piston. The vibration exciter is controlled to create a resonant vibration of the piston-cylinder arrangement. An independent claim is made for a method for testing components that are loaded with an internal pressure.
