The lifting device comprises an electro-hydraulic lifting column fixed on a base plate and associated with a transport mechanism which has a pallet truck with wheel and drive device. The pallet truck is detachably connected to the lifting column through the base plate and is designed to engage in and out of the base plate. The base plate is horseshoe shaped with recesses on the inside whilst the pallet truck has several extension arms on its horizontal sides each provided with upwardly projecting hook.
